30 Day Book Challenge // Day 21: A Book with a Number in the Title

Day 21: A Book with a Number in the Title

This was a surprisingly difficult day for me to find a book for! I don't seem to have many books with numbers in the title. Thankfully though, I did find this one.

Thirteen is an amazing thriller/crime hybrid that I read a couple of years ago now, but that I remember absolutely loving!

I've seen a lot of hype about this book, especially recently on bookstagram. But for those of you still unfamiliar with the story, here's a quick blurb!

They were Hollywood's hottest power couple. They had the world at their feet. Now one of them is dead and Hollywood star Robert Solomon is charged with the brutal murder of his beautiful wife.

This is the celebrity murder trial of the century and the defence want one man on their team: con artist turned lawyer Eddie Flynn.

All the evidence points to Robert's guilt, but as the trial begins a series of sinister incidents in the court room start to raise doubts in Eddie's mind.

What if there's more than one actor in the courtroom?

What if the killer isn't on trial? What if the killer is on the jury?
Blurb taken from Goodreads.

I was surprised to learn that this is number four in a series about the same crime-solving character. I actually read this as a standalone book, and it worked just as well that way!

Anybody who knows me knows I love crime fiction, and this was a really interesting take on it. It's a crime story, with a trial and a jury and all those traditional elements. But it's told through a more thriller style. It's fascinating because we know that the killer is on the jury, and we follow their progress as the case continues. However, we know nothing about them, and so we're kept on the edge of our seat, not knowing how the story is going to turn out!

If you want a fast-paced, exciting, adventurous thriller style novel, definitely pick this one up. I promise you won't regret it!

If you've already read the book and fancy checking out my full review, you can find it here.
